Botox Injections
Botox is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles. Botox blocks the release of a chemical called “acetylcholine’, which stops signals for the muscle to contract. Unlike any other injectable, it actually stops your ability to frown, and therefore keeps the skin attached to the muscle smooth.
Administered in low doses, Botox helps to reduce lines and wrinkles around the eyes, laugh lines on the forehead, and can also be injected into the lips.
Effects from Botox are not immediate and can take up to two weeks to see its full effects, and in most cases, the treatment lasts for four to six months, requiring continued use to prevent new wrinkles from forming.
